TRACE HAMITER AND FAMILY
I believe that there is a lot more that can be done in reaching our world for the glory of God. I think we all feel that deep inside us. We see our world today and we know that more has to be done. I believe there’s a burning in us all to do more, the only thing is that far too often we get distracted or we just drift back into maintaining the status quo. I started All Things Mnistries because I wanted to open the door to do more, I’m now leading it full time because I want to give my life to doing what’s not being done yet for the Kingdom of God. I desire to become all things and do all things so that Christ may be magnified.
Cassie and I both graduated from Auburn University in 2004, have been married for over 15 years now, and have 5 amazing kids! We have been in full time collegiate ministry for basically our entire marriage. I received my Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and my Doctorate of Ministry from Beeson Divinty School. Cassie and I desire to live in absolute surrender to the Lord, walking in whatever He leads us. Our core approach to ministry is summed up in 1 Thessalonians 2:8 “Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us"
The aim of my life and greatest desire of my heart is to bring God glory through submitting every area of my life to Him and through making His name known where it is not. God used my time in college to produce this desire in me and change the way I live forever. He surrounded me with biblical community that strives to be all that the church is called to be, truly living out what scripture models in Acts 2:37-47. He used one-on-one discipleship relationships to grow me in my knowledge of Him, love for Him, and deeper daily obedience to Jesus as Lord over every area of my life. And He taught me what it means to live on mission daily, showing me the joy that it is to invite others into His Kingdom; He does not wish “that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance” (2 Peter 3:9b).
These four years truly set the trajectory for how I want to spend the next fifty. However, my freshman year of college I didn’t know any of these things. It took several months for me to plug in to a local church, even longer before I learned what biblical community and one-on-one discipleship looked like, and still even longer before my eyes were opened to the great number of students on my college campus who had never fully heard about Jesus before. My desire is for incoming college freshmen to find these things much sooner than I did, leveraging every moment of their years in college - and of the rest of their lives - for the glory of God.
I graduated from Auburn University in May of 2019 and knew the Lord was calling me to continue to be a part of what He was doing in the lives of college students. My desire is for Jesus to be made known on Auburn’s campus and for more and more students to see Him as worthy of their whole lives.
I believe that our lives are not our own. Our lives are from the Father, through the Father, and to the Father for His glory and that alone! And the Lord is continually giving me a deeper understanding of what a life led by this truth looks like. I believe that all of life is discipleship and that discipleship is imparting your entire life. I believe that in scripture when the Lord speaks of the Church that He loves and equips to send out He’s speaking to the body of Christ as a whole, and not just about one particular building or another. I desire to come alongside the church in Auburn and Opelika, where the Lord has planted me for such a time as this, equipping and spurring believers on, discipling and teaching those who are faithful to teach others also, “becoming all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.” And as a part of the All Things Ministries team, I get to do exactly that!
I graduated from Auburn University in 2017 with a nursing degree that I truly believe the Father used to equip me for my roles in full time collegiate ministry over the past 3 years far more than I could have ever imagined! I desire more than anything to walk in obedience to the Father, whatever that may look like, because I’ve learned that obedience is always His greatest glory, and by the grace of God, it's also my greatest good.
